The headquarters is located where Tecnomasio Italiano built the first electric vehicle 100 years ago
Milan, 16 November 2021 – NHOA (formerly Engie EPS) unveils today the new Global Engineering Center in Milan. The new headquarters is located in the historic building of Piazzale Lodi which for more than 80 years housed the labs of the Tecnomasio Italiano Brown Boveri (TIBB), an undisputed protagonist of the electric industry of the 1900s.
“More than a century after the birth of Tecnomasio, NHOA collects the legacy of what once was the cradle of engineering and electric mobility in Europe, to make the building the beating heart of energy transition and e-mobility worldwide” commented Carlalberto Guglielminotti, CEO of NHOA Group.
This grand opening follows the recent successes of the Group in Asia-Pacific, with projects for over 600MWh, and takes place while NHOA is in the process of raising, with the support of Société Générale and Mediobanca, new funding to support the growth of its three sectors: energy storage, e-mobility and fastcharging infrastructure for electric vehicles.
The new Global Engineering Center, where NHOA will continue to develop its technology for the global market, is located in the 1908 Tecnomasio Italiano Brown Boveri’s former industrial complex. It stems from the collaboration with two important Milanese designers: the architects Ludovico Ugati and Andrea Quartieri. This complex interior design project has led to the creation of contemporary workspaces with a high technological content, focused on achieving the maximum level of environment flexibility and virtual connectivity from every workstation. Furthermore, the enhancement of the openings and the use of a luxuriant vegetation in all rooms, by Archiverde, has allowed the creation of unique and very bright spaces built around aggregation areas and spaces dedicated to physical activity.
The result reflects NHOA’s intention to create a workplace with the highest technological content in an historical building, capable of responding to the new needs of the phygital era by facilitating interactions between office-based colleagues and those who work from home in the context of the FamilyWorking program (nhoa.energy/familyWorking).
The grand opening of the new headquarters will see the participation of representatives of major companies, financial institutions and politicians, as well as the main members of the NHOA Group’s Boards of Directors, including Veronica Vecchi (Professor, Bocconi University), Romualdo Cirillo (Financial Director, Camfin), Davide Mele (Deputy COO Enlarged Europe, Stellantis) and Todd Yang (CFO, TCC Europe).
