Atlante sponsors the 10th edition of TEDxPadova

  • Atlante will participate, as a Golden Partner, in the 10th edition of TEDxPadova, a community that encourages the sharing of innovative ideas and stimulates the human potential of the Venetian city.
  • It consolidates the link between Atlante and the City of Padua, which already sees them together in creating two innovative parking “hubs” for charging more than 80 electric vehicles, 100% powered by renewable energy.
  • Atlante is building the largest fast and ultra-fast charging network in Southern Europe to ensure electric mobility for all and Padua projects are an essential part of this roadmap.

Milan – Padua, 13 April 2023 – Atlante, the company of NHOA Group (NHOA.PA, formerly Engie EPS) dedicated to electric vehicles’ fast and ultra-fast charging infrastructure, is Golden Partner of the 10th edition of TEDxPadova, a community that encourages the sharing of innovative ideas and stimulates the human potential of the city. Scheduled for April 15, this year’s event focuses on all the meanings of the number TEN, also intended to celebrate the tenth anniversary of TEDxPadova, which saw more than 150 speakers sharing valuable ideas for a better future.

Declares Stefano Terranova, CEO of Atlante: “Atlante enthusiastically volunteered to support the TEDxPadova project given the sharing of important values, such as innovation, passion for people, and technological vocation. Just as TED’s motto “Ideas worth spreading” states, we at Atlante also believe that we have ideas to share to improve the future of our planet: and we are already putting these ideas into action, as we can see in the two charging hubs we are building right here in Padua. At Atlante, we also really like the “TEN” chosen by TEDxPadova: it stands for excellence. Finally, just ten years ago, a talented young engineer, Giovanni Ravina, was among the speakers at the first edition of TEDxPadova. Today that brilliant engineer is our CEO in Iberia and one of the creators of Atlante itself.”

The partnership with TEDxPadova is part of a larger project which already sees Atlante and the City of Padua together to promote both the adoption of electric vehicles and the increased use of the tramway network, especially by commuters. For this reason, the City Council issued a significant innovation challenge to the market, requesting ideas and solutions for a new sustainable mobility concept. Atlante took up the challenge enthusiastically by proposing a highly innovative project that is immediately useful and usable by the community. It represents an absolute first of its kind in Italy.

Specifically, the construction activities have already begun for two innovative parking and charging hubs for electric vehicles, 100% powered by renewable energy, totaling 80 electrified parking spaces with energy produced by the solar-paneled canopies that will cover 160 parking spaces. In line with the vision of sustainable mobility clearly stated by the City of Padua, the two hubs will be installed at the terminals of the city’s main tramway line to encourage not only the adoption of electric mobility within the metropolitan area but also to promote the use of public transportation to the central areas of the city, decreasing vehicular traffic. Even though some young plants had to be removed during the construction of the hubs, Atlante immediately took on the engagement to replant three times as many plants upon completion in areas of the city defined by the City of Padua.

Once the construction of the hubs is e complete, the project will integrate the charging infrastructure and solar panels with storage systems and energy exchange technology (Vehicle-to-Grid). This will first allow for the storage and, therefore, better application of locally produced solar energy. In addition, the energy storage and exchange technologies that will be used will allow Atlante to provide services for stabilizing the national power grid.

In addition to the immediate necessity to provide the City of Padua with hubs for sustainable electric mobility, Atlante’s technologies and related services for the grid will, on the one hand, allow for the provision of charging services at competitive rates and. on the other hand, contribute to the strengthening and storage capacity of the national power system, a fundamental building block for the achievement of energy independence, which is now more urgent than ever.
