Milan, 1 March 2022 – Our Beyond Sport initiatives continue with the support of the Regional Wheelchair Tennis Tournament, which was held on 26-27 February at the Milanese Tennis Club Lombardo.
Beyond Sport is NHOA’s program encouraging social inclusiveness through sport and foresees a number of projects involving outdoor and challenging sports, as well as the successful collaboration with Tennis Club Lombardo launched in 2021.
The event, indeed, follows the two initiatives that took place last year at Tennis Club Lombardo, precisely the awarding of the athlete under-16 who achieved the best placement in the Gabriele Mazzalveri Women’s Open Tournament, and “Un set pari”, the tennis day dedicated to young people with Down Syndrome of the “Associazione Genitori e Persone con la Sindrome di Down” (AGPD).
The Regional Wheelchair Tennis Tournament, recognized by the Italian Tennis Federation, saw the participation of 8 players who faced each other in two groups of 4 each, both in singles and doubles, showing great physical strength e technique. In addition to the competitive component, the event highlighted the importance of social integration and participation in sports for people with disabilities.
We are very proud to support initiatives like this and, in particular, the social role of sport as an essential tool to learn fundamental life principles that perfectly reflect NHOA’s values: loyalty, team spirit, sacrifice, training, merit, fair play, a taste for challenges.
